Mario Power Star Charm Necklace Ornament
thingiverse
This is a simple Mario Star Charm that uses an off-the-shelf LED insert. It's super quick and easy to create, making light-up jewelry a fun accessory for special events, especially at night! You could also use this as a Christmas ornament too. Overall size is ~2" square x 1" deep. **Material & Settings:** Translucent PLA or PETG plastic are used in this project. I recommend this brand https://amzn.to/2FPthIJ Supports are needed to lay the star on its back facing up A 0.4mm dia nozzle is required 0.2mm layer thickness is maxed out Two Perimeters are set for all sides, top and bottom 15% Gyroid Infill is used, with everything being solid. **Vitamins:** 1x LED Light: https://amzn.to/2G0iaOu This cheap but decent-quality light is water-resistant, has a twist-on/off feature, and batteries are supposed to last up to 72 hours. To turn it on for the first time, unscrew it and remove the paper insert that keeps the batteries from turning on in the package. They're sold for inserting into balloons or paper lanterns but work great as a starter part for jewelry! The clear rubber ring outside keeps water out and friction keeps the cap from separating when turned off. It will still function without this rubber piece if you don't like it. Necklace: Obviously, there are many options available, but the loop on the LED is pretty small, so I used a 1.5mm chain. https://amzn.to/2TSDEAp OPTIONAL: If making this as a Christmas ornament, you can simply bend a paperclip into a hook!
