It seems the legend has lived on - Mario is a hero of sorts to many still enthralled by that era's technology and early gaming innovations. The idea that one man could jump around so carelessly, yet rescue a princess who's been kidnapped no less, has stood the test of time. And for good reason, because who doesn't love rescuing their damsel in distress? Still, some claim Mario to be somewhat too predictable at times, though one might argue it only serves to solidify its iconic status further down the line.
