I thoroughly enjoyed the original design by Wiper, but I noticed that the panels didn't fit snugly and were too bulky. To fix this issue, I reduced the panel thickness to allow for more light penetration. Furthermore, I upgraded the base to utilize a standard barrel-style power supply and switch, ensuring a seamless look. The base is carefully notched to accommodate the LED plug, creating a clean and flush appearance when connected. I designed a new lid without a question mark, as it looked awkward with one in place. However, if you prefer a question mark on your lid, simply print an additional side panel. Additionally, I created a simple cage to securely hold a LED strip. Initially, I intended to use two rows of LEDs, but ultimately decided to wrap the strip three times instead. The extra brightness wasn't necessary, and I was too lazy to splice the wires. To make printing easier, I carefully laid out all the components so that no additional supports are required. Everything prints flat, thanks to my precise design. To prevent warping issues, I used a 5mm brim on the panels, lid, and top/bottom box parts. Unfortunately, the base did experience curling off the bed, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of fixing it again. If I were to redesign this project from scratch, I would definitely print the panels with 100% infill to eliminate any grid patterns that may appear when the LEDs are illuminated.
