Marineland Penguin 150 Custom Filter Cartridges
thingiverse
The marineland penguin 150 doesn't have an option for a custom filter housing. You're stuck with using their floss/activated carbon inserts. I have a planted aquarium and carbon removes needed iron from the water. The 150 has spots for 2 cartridges so I designed two sizes. My setup is as follows: I buy floss filter media in bulk and cut to fit the filter housings. I use hot glue round the entire housing to attach it. the "floss" STL is my first stage. I have a bag of Seachem Purigen in the housing with the filter over it. in the "Bio" STL I run Seachem Matrix biological filter media. I made that housing deeper to accommodate the stones. It's a tight fit when using both but they do work and work well. I've been using them in my aquarium for 6 months with zero issue.
