The formidable Marine Frigate, one of the most intimidating small vessels in the Homeworld game, has taken the place of the Scavenger Corvette, a ship that those who have played both games know to be reckoned with. Although its armaments are limited, its capabilities are not to be underestimated, as it can unleash platoons of marines on an unsuspecting and unprepared vessel caught in its sights. A cluster of these frigates will force even the bravest commander to retreat, lest they face the relentless hordes of her boarding party members and suffer the humiliating fate of losing control of their ship to the enemy. Not much in the way of armaments is given its role, but it can defend itself significantly against harassing strikecraft.
