Mariel and Zoe, pregnant woman scanned with Kinect.
thingiverse
Looking for a way to scan objects in 3D but discovered an affordable method using a Kinect camera and free software downloaded from the internet. The model is my close friend Mariel who carries her daughter Zoe, now just a few months old. The process was relatively straightforward - I placed the model on a turntable made from an old TV stand about a meter away from the camera. Scanning the object from top to bottom in three sections, which were later edited with Zbrush resulting in this outcome. One thing that didn't meet my expectations is the texture, as I wasn't able to achieve a very nice level of detail, but I'm sure that improving the scanning process would yield an excellent result.
