Pierre-Marie Poisson was born in Niort on November 19, 1876, and passed away in Paris on January 11, 1953. As a French sculptor and medallist, Poisson crafted many notable pieces. In 1933, he created a bust of "Marianne," the symbol of the French Republic, which was made available for purchase through the Musée du Louvre. A version can be seen in Arpajon, Essonne.
