Maria Mitchell Astronomer
thingiverse
Maria Mitchell (August 1, 1818 – June 28, 1889) was a highly acclaimed American astronomer who, in 1847, boldly utilized a telescope to uncover a previously unknown comet. The astronomical phenomenon gained widespread recognition and was thereafter known as "Miss Mitchell's Comet". For her remarkable discovery, she received a prestigious gold medal prize which was awarded to her by the illustrious King Frederick VI of Denmark. This achievement marked an extraordinary milestone for a woman at that time. I plan to create a more intricate and extremely accurate scan of the bust that is currently housed at the esteemed Vassar College Observatory.
