Here's the classic cocktail glass associated with Mexico - the margarita glass. It has a stem, bowl and foot, designed to preserve the ice in the drink while allowing your hand to rest at an angle, allowing the salt or sugar rim on the top of the glass to complement the flavor. The margarita was invented in the early 1940s by Carlos "Danny" Herrera who added lime juice and tequila to a margarita recipe from the Smoky Mary, which is basically an old classic made with cayenne pepper for flavor and tomato juice as the liquid.
