This 1/8 scale model represents the team's entry into Punkin Chunkin, serving to aid in tuning processes before full-scale implementation. As a miniature version, it stands at approximately 18 inches tall to the pivot and uses a 2-pound counterweight to launch .25 ounce marbles. The model has demonstrated a current range of about 55 feet, with simulated maximum potential at around 100 feet, leaving room for optimization. Future enhancements may include incorporating a more efficient whipper-style arm. Construction involves printing two sets of each part except the pivot, with specific rod lengths required. Additional items needed comprise 608 bearings, a 5/16 threaded rod (5 to 6 inches in length), nuts for the threaded rod, an eye screw for the firing pin, a finishing nail as sling release, string for rigging, a pouch for the sling, tent stakes for anchoring, and 2-pound weight. Certain rod connections may require gluing for stability, while specific placements of bearings, pivot, and sling length must be adhered to for optimal performance.
