The Temple of Demeter at Knidos was constructed alongside the city's rebirth approximately 350 BC. The sacred complex boasted a sprawling platform carved into an acropolis, offering breathtaking vistas of the town below and the ocean beyond. Countless votive sculptures were once showcased within the temple precincts. While most have been reduced to fragments, this remarkable cult statue of Demeter remains remarkably well-preserved. As the goddess of fertility, Demeter controlled the cycle of seasons and grain growth. Her influence extended to the Underworld as well; at Knidos, she was revered alongside other underworld deities, including Hades and her daughter Persephone. This object is part of "Scan The World".
