Endless Fun with the Marble Rush Elevator

See my working version here: Video LINK

Download the installation manual beforehand to see what you will get!

I've designed and build this Marble Rush Elevator for my two daughters who really love to play with the Marble Rush play sets. This way they have a new and endless challange to build multiple tracks that start at the top of the elevator and end in one of the 8 openings in the bottom. The Elevator is fully modulair and easy to build and extend for young children.

The Marble Rush Elevator is fully compatible with the V-Tech Marble Rush play sets! This is required for the Elevator.

The design is based on the Archimedes Screw and made to fit perfectly with the existing pieces of the V-Tech Marble Rush building blocks and track pieces.

The use of this elevator is very safe, I've designed and implemented a safety feature (slip-coupling) to prevent the small fingers to get hurt due to the torque limitting transmition from the motor to the archimedes screw.

All pieces are easily connected with a press fit connection. It is best to build sections of the archimedes screw first and then add the outer shaft pieces next.

Included in the Download are all required 3D models and a very extensive Installation Manual is added to help you build this elevator. I've put a lot of time and effort in that.

I hope you (and/or your kids) will be having fun building and playing with this Marble Rush Elevator!

Required Hardware Parts:
For a complete functional Marble Rush Elevator you need at least the following additional parts.
- Ball bearing (Type: 608ZZ, OD; ø22mm ID; ø8mm T; 7mm)
- Geared Motor (Type: JGA25-370, 12V, ±100RPM)
- Electric Switch (Type: MTS-102)
- 9V Battery connector
- 9V Battery
- 20cm of thin wiring
- M3 Hex Socket head screws (Length: 4x M3x20, etc...)
- M3 Brass insert nuts (M3; OD; ø4.3mm, L; 4mm)

You can get all these items online (e.g. Aliexpress) or in your local hardware store.
Total hardware cost: ±€15,00 incl. VAT, excl. screws and shipping.

3D Printing Settings
I've printed all parts with a 0.6mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.4mm, I've set the first layer at 0.16mm for optimal bed adhesion.

For the Archimedus Screw parts I've set the perimiters (walls) to 4 to have better overlapping layers.
Infill around 15-25%

See the Installation Manual for more detailed Print Settings and a Step-by-Step guide on the intallation.
