Marble Run

Marble Run

After witnessing Ferjerez's remarkable marble run created using Processing.org, I decided to attempt a similar project in OpenSCAD. This endeavor was heavily influenced by his outstanding work. Fernando's impressive creation can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4203859 and he has also shared a set of fascinating mazes for download - https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/procedural-marble-maze-full-set. This design is specifically tailored for 5mm diameter marbles, although scaling up to accommodate larger marbles should be feasible. Please note that this project is still a work in progress and subject to change. The maze is defined as an array within the OpenSCAD file, which does not generate mazes but rather creates the model based on a pre-defined maze. For more information on maze generation, refer to Ferjerez's detailed explanation linked from his original model. Keep in mind that this design may take some time for OpenSCAD to render due to its complexity. I have chosen not to mark it as a customizer, anticipating that it might be too resource-intensive even with modifications. In addition to the all-in-one STL file for the marble run itself, I have generated separate components that can be assembled for multi-material prints. Although I haven't printed it using multiple materials yet, due to the substantial increase in filament usage for the purge tower, I plan to revisit this approach once I'm satisfied with the results. P.S. Thingiverse is currently experiencing difficulties generating renders of the STL files, but rest assured that they are all available and ready to be downloaded!
