Marble Run

Summary I decided to organize a marble run for the kids on Take Your Child To Work Day this year, along with a friend. Instead of ordering pre-made tracks and pieces, we chose to create our own by printing them. We designed them so that kids could hold the tracks together using Legos. Additionally, we created a slanted Lego piece to help angle the tracks. Do not use supports for the slanted lego pieces; it might be difficult to use them that way. You can read more about our marble run here: http://3ddash.blogspot.com/2017/04/marble-run.html Overview and Background What is a marble run? If you are not familiar with what a marble run is, it's where multiple teams assemble tracks together for marbles to roll down. The team that uses the most tracks or has the fastest run wins. If the tracks are too steep and the marbles go too fast, they might jump off the track, disqualifying the team. Lesson Plan and Activity We divided the kids into groups of four and gave them 35 minutes to see what they could come up with.
