Marble Mountain 2 (repost)
thingiverse
Stepping up the game from my first Marble Mountain: Taller (167mm), Wider (225mm), Deeper (200mm... well this is the same... but still..), COOLER: 3 x 11mm dia. Marble tracks snake thru the mountain and twist around each other, passing into a gnarly cavern before bottoming out... The print was fairly smooth, but there were 2 points in the cavern that needed supports and it took a bit of knife work to tidy those up because I didn't add any supports. otherwise the post work was pretty typical cleaning up scruffy edges and spider webs. On the back side I also left a void space with a large access point... originally it was simply to reduce the amount of infill needed, but gives a nice home for a battery pack and some lights, or a pump if your ambitious and want to make it into a little water works. (maybe not in PLA though)... I wasn't too happy with the color after I got it from Amazon, but taking 2/3 of a 1kg roll, I was stuck to use what I had since all my other spools are down to 1/2 or less... Not terrible, just not as nice as the granite I used on the first Marble Mountain. I've uploaded the Blender file too. all the original biezier paths are in a collection, and you can mod the source model as you like (or see how I did it and try it out yourself) Enjoy!
