This is an alternate component to assemble the pieces of Jazzmyn's Customizable Marble Machine together. The part has a block at the rear that holds a cylindrical magnet in place. Using these components with magnets inserted and the track pieces from Jazzmyn's Customizable Marble Machine, you can build a marble track that mounts to a ferrous metal surface. This component provides a tighter fit on the track pieces than the original parts from Jazzmyn's set. They have a slightly larger lip around the edges and a smaller interior diameter, which allows them to grip the track pieces more securely. My goal was to create clips that grip the rings tightly enough to eliminate the need for zip ties. I designed this component to work with 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch neodymium magnets purchased from Applied Magnets. At the time of writing, these are model #ND014 in the www.magnet4less.com store. You can find these magnets at this link. The hole for the magnet is a tight fit because I wanted the magnet to stay within the block by friction, even when pulling the component off of a thick ferrous surface. This makes it somewhat challenging to insert the magnet and requires significant force. The technique I use is to place the cylinder magnet on a hard flat surface, then press the component down into the magnet with my thumb, pushing down on the inside of the ring directly over the block. Printer Settings Printer: Deltamaker Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 50% Notes: I print these in PLA without supports. Three solid layers at the top and bottom, and three outline/perimeter shells. On my printer, there is usually a small bit of stringing around the top of the front of the component, but I simply snip it off and the component works fine. I created this using OpenJSCAD.
