In ancient Greek mythology, Artemis is frequently portrayed as Zeus's daughter and Leto's child, alongside her twin brother Apollo. As the Hellenic goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, and virginity, she also protects young girls and influences disease in women; often depicted as a skilled huntress wielding a bow and arrows.
