This figurine depicts a male figure adorned with a diagonal shoulder-strap and belt, his left arm crossed over his waist while his right arm is raised in a gesture of vigilance. The incised fingers on the raised hand add to its sense of purpose. His eyes still manage to convey a sense of vitality despite being faintly etched into the surface, a testament to the preservation efforts that have protected the paint from fading away completely. Male Cycladic figurines, by and large, are dominated by female representations in all periods, with the late 'hunter-warriors' being an extremely rare exception. The type is distinguished by its association with dagger-wielding figures as well as the typical baldric worn around their waists. Only a handful of relatively well-preserved examples exist worldwide, making this discovery truly remarkable.
