Maracaibo insert

The Maracaibo board game is crying out for a custom insert that simplifies setup and storage. The numerous bags currently make it challenging to organize the game components, but I've started by focusing on the parts that go directly onto the board from storage and the card holder. My goal is to have the game board at the top of the insert, which would be ideal since it's currently buried under other components. Unfortunately, the rulebook is thicker than anticipated, causing the lid to be a few millimeters short of being completely shut. I welcome any feedback or suggestions from fellow gamers who might have experience designing custom inserts. I'm not familiar with the design process, so please bear with me as I work through this project. Here are some images of my current progress: The card box features one side that's slightly wider to accommodate labeling the compartments. I've also added extra space to ensure sleeves will fit for those who want them. Solo cards Career cards Prestige building cards A cards B Cards Story cards (C cards as well) Cardbox sleeved Version 2 of the card box has a wall moved up by 3 mm, allowing for 3 mm taller sleeves. The same design features larger holes to accommodate various component sizes. The components with lids need to be placed in the large tray to fit this insert. The hole sizes are as follows: Solo: 20mm Prestige: 12 mm Career: 12 mm A: 36.9mm (don't ask me how it ended up with a .9!) B: 60mm Story: 49 mm The 53 x 91 mm sleeves fit perfectly. Combat Tiles I designed the combat tiles compartment to fit a 19mm x 1 mm magnet in both the lid and base. However, they fit together without any issues, creating a nice press-fit design that works well with my prints. Questtiles I aimed to create an insert that allows for easy placement of the game board on top, matching the height of the card box. This also enables the story tiles to be stacked correctly. The thought order of the cards is: Synergy tokens I designed these to accommodate 10 mm x 1 mm magnets and achieved a good press-fit. Ownership markers This design serves as both an ownership marker and a discarded cube/dice holder next to the prestige buildings. It's also a nice addition to the game board, providing extra functionality. Coinholder (Bank) I envisioned this coin holder as a separate component that can be removed from the box and used as a bank on the table. However, I encountered an issue with the smaller compartment meant for 10 dubloon tokens being difficult to access. To address this, I've placed the 1 dubloon tokens in the smallest compartment instead. The V2 version of the coin holder is slightly smaller, allowing it to fit on top of the player trays and accommodate the game boards between them. Player boxes I recommend printing four copies of this design, one for each color. The player boxes are meant to be placed on top of the coin holder and support the player board in the box. The V2 version is 1 mm smaller to better fit the player boards. Tray This tray is designed specifically for the blue bag and legacy/campaign tiles, as well as a compartment for city tiles. Discs A separate tray was created to hold all the small discs, also providing support for the game board. I've reached an agreement with Thingiverse user early8, allowing him to sell copies of this insert at his Etsy store.
