I recently stumbled upon a particularly fascinating maple log while cutting firewood for the grill one day. This section of a massive maple tree snapped during a thunderstorm several years ago, leaving behind a unique piece to work with. I repurpose it to create charcoal for our outdoor barbecues from time to time. Next, I'll take a closer look at some more pieces, as maple wood is quite visually appealing to me. This image was created using Agisoft Metashape, then processed with Instant Meshes and Blender. The photo was taken with a Canon 90d camera paired with a 100mm macro lens.
