Material: Yeso and Wood (140 x 210 cm.) The "Penitentiary Workshops for Redemption through Labor" were inaugurated in Alcalá de Henares on August 1, 1939. The workshops would start operating with two main sections: the Printing Press, where catalogs, brochures, books, and periodic editions of the "Redención" magazine were prepared; and the Carpentry Shop, where various furniture and school supplies were manufactured. Their primary objective was to provide school materials to schools and institutes after the Civil War, and they began their activities with approximately 200 inmates who earned fifty cents plus two pesetas for each prisoner's wife and one peseta for every minor child under fifteen years old for each day of work. Moreover, for every day worked, they would reduce one day from their sentence. The map is located at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters in Valladolid.
