Map of Pouch Caps
thingiverse
With my youngest at almost 18 months, I'm starting to accumulate a collection of pouch caps again. They come in all shapes and colors, but a lot of them will fit a 1/2-inch bolt that can be picked up at the hardware store, which is quite cool. If you incorporate three-dimensional printing, you could create pouch cap wheels or pouch cap knobs for a cardboard play set (the pouch caps and anything you 3D print as the connector need to be mindful of choking hazards). One thing I think about when starting to collect these pouch caps is how this must be the toddler equivalent of how adults collect beer caps or wine corks. This idea led me to experiment with a pouch cap map. Not sure yet if I'm going to build a larger one, but you could easily scale it up and do a different state or shape.
