The PVC tube can vary in diameter and thickness, giving users flexibility. In Europe, standard PVC pipes have a 63 mm external diameter and a 3 mm wall thickness. However, thinner tubes can be used in Togo, requiring adjustments to ensure proper functioning. To facilitate priming, pour a small amount of water into the pump through the outlet hole. The two PLA printed washers can be replaced with food-grade plastic cutting board washers for added durability. For assembly, attach the PVC tube to the base using epoxy glue. The cap should be removable for easy maintenance. Seal the water outlet, intake pipe and cap with silicone sealant. Cover the handle with a 32 mm diameter PVC tube for added protection. Cut out the bottom flap, inner tube or pool cover using the provided template. The valve closes due to the weight of the washers and the screw. Remarks: Printing tests of the "filaflex" membrane were successful, but we lack experience regarding the longevity of printed parts. Due to high filament costs and long manufacturing times, we opted for the inner tube or pool cover solution. See the attached PDF file for hardware specifications.
