manual stable turn table for 3d scanning
prusaprinters

from lack of a turn table with right proportions for 3d scanning i tried most of the designs but did not find them adequate for my needs.

i wanted

smooth movement

right height for turning by hand

stable

not slipping on table

first, i designed the lower part (stand) to hold the 608 bearing and make primarily contact with the inner part of the bearing. then the upper part (table) i made to fit the 608 bearing snuggly but have 4 holes that the bearing can be removed with a small screw driver and the main contact of the bearing is on the outer ring. the upper and lower parts i made to have both a ring of plastic at small gap so that if a heavy object is put on the table, the load is held plastic on plastic and the bearing is not strained but helped. it results in a free turning quite stable turn table. finally, i realised the contact to the table needs more grip, so i added a fitting rubber foot, that makes the turn table hold on a table when turned. this foot needs to be printed in flexible material to work.

i printed stand and table in PLA and the foot in ninjaflex.
