Here is a fun project we have students complete for manual lathe. Looks like it should be impossible to make, but it is very simple. Really great project to do!Covers:-Squaring and working with non cylinder materials-Independent 4 Jaw set up -Holding Dimensions through multiple set ups.Process:1) Have the student square a piece of material into a cube on the lathe2) Turn one side to some diameter and some depth.3) Take the exact same diameter and depth cut on all 6 sides of the cube.The piece will only come out correct (all edges intersecting each other) if it is done accurately.
