Mantis DIY Mill spindle case
thingiverse
I am constructing a mill and selected Mantis9-1 model from http://makeyourbot.org/mantis9-1. The crucial component is the spindle, which I chose to print its housing instead of using layered wood. For this, refer to http://makeyourbot.org/low-cost-spindle-2.0. To assemble, print two halves, compensating for potential squishing on the platform (as depicted in the picture). Then, insert and assemble the pieces, securing them with cable ties if desired. Interestingly, there are two bolt holes that align perfectly with RepRap extruder carriage locations.
