On her 18th birthday, Mantis underwent a mind-wipe procedure, and false memories were implanted in her mind, depicting a childhood as an orphan in Vietnam. This carefully crafted narrative was designed to provide her with a normal human experience, ultimately aiding her development into the Celestial Madonna she was destined to become.
