Ever wanted to eat candy out of a suburb dweller's Gothic horror dream mansion? Today is your chance! This print combines my favourites Halloween films mansions with my favourite printing mode, the vase mode. This hellish contraption takes cues of the following movies:

Psycho (1960)

Rebecca (1940)

The Innocents (1961)

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Addams Family (1991)

Addams Family Values (it's actually not the same house) (1993)

Hocus Pocus (1993)

Don't worry, the house won't turn you mad if you are not able to sleep in it. Maybe don't print a life-size version, just in case.

PRINTING INSTRUCTION

This mansion is not just spooky in it's conception, it's also spooky to print as if you don't get the settings quite right, it might never see the light of day. It must be printed at .9 mm extrusion width (you can change it in the “Print Settings” tab in the “Advanced Section”) otherwise the diagonal are too steep and someone might fall off. This also has the effect to solidify the box.

As for the filament, I believe you can use anyone you want, as long as it's not silky PLA. This kind of filament might not be the best choice for wide extrusions like that. As for me, I used a Tough PETG that always looks gorgeous.

For your layer height, I recommend .15mm as in my tests, .2mm didn't always work, especially for the roof part. If you are in a hurry, you could always use variable layer heights on the diagonal lines.

I included two sample G-code files, so you can see my settings

TL;DR:

Layer Height : .15 or lower is preferred

Layer Width (important): .85mm - .90 mm (and more I guess)

Filament Type : any, but no silky PLA

For the top/roof part only: Solid Layers : Bottom: 0 (Don't print a floor)

Tolerance used: (Layer width +)0.20 mm ( for Touching parts)

PS: For the faint of heart, you might want to print the top of the house using lightning infill with no bottom layer, that way, there's less chance of failing.
