Manitour Mars Damper Repair Parts
thingiverse
I recently encountered an issue with my Manitou Mars suspension fork, a 2000 or possibly 2001 model, where the damping stopped functioning altogether. The base model comes equipped with only air pressure adjustments and lacks any adjustable damping features. Upon disassembling the fork, I discovered that the metal shim stack had been torn in two and one of the damper pieces was broken. To rectify this situation, I replaced both parts, which should restore the fork's functionality. After installation, I've taken my bike for a spin, and so far, everything appears to be working as expected. The compression and rebound damping seem to be performing decently, considering it's on its first try. For further clarity, please refer to the provided schematic to identify the replaced components. While initial results are promising, only time will tell if these repairs will hold up in the long run.
