Just watched C.H.U.D. again and it's still a complete disaster of a movie. BUT what it does have is some truly amazing street photography from early 80s NYC that I just can't get enough of. Thought about recreating the opening scene, but too much is going on in my life right now to even think about it. DID manage to take a stab at making a procedural manhole cover using Substance Designer though - it's definitely not perfect, but it works really well in the lighting conditions I used. Created all of the details myself inside Substance Designer.
