This setup is specifically designed for use with a Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod. The volumetric section of the quick release plate that attaches to the tripod can be sourced by attaching a 1/4 thread bolt to your camera. This type of bolt can easily be found at any local hardware store, and may require trimming down to size. To trim the bolt, simply thread a nut past where you want to cut it, then use a hacksaw to cut it to the desired length. After cutting, use a file or sandpaper to clean up any rough edges or burrs, then thread the nut back off. If damage occurs to the threads during trimming, the nut should help repair or reduce the damage as it is threaded back off.
