Manfrotto MKCOMPACTLT Stem
thingiverse
I recently acquired a compact and lightweight tripod from Manfrotto's MKCOMPACTLT model. However, I encountered an issue with the default mount not accommodating my primary camera tripod head (which comes equipped with a 1/4-20 threaded stem). To utilize my preferred tripod head, I required a larger thread size, specifically 3/8-16. To resolve this problem, I designed a custom stem that would replace the original one. This new stem is intended to accept an appropriately sized bolt from a hardware store. The design accommodates a 3" bolt, but it can be easily shortened using a slicer without any concerns. It's essential to ensure there is at least 1/4-3/8" of material left above the surface after shortening. Most bolts do not include the head in their measurements, so this custom piece should match the published length of the bolt, taking into account the recessed area where the head sits.
