Manfrotto 785B Adapter with Bolt Hole
thingiverse
This adapter was crafted by design. It's a reworking of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:20985 This reworking adds a bolt hole where a hexagonal bolt can fit snugly without rotation. It also features a beveled ridge for camera placement. I created it for an 11mm bolt that fits a Canon camera thread. The bolt was approximately 23mm long, or 19mm excluding the bolt head. It's fully customizable in OpenSCad, and you must adjust the variables within to match your specific bolt type. It's both flexible and adjustable, but using vernier calipers is highly recommended for precise setup. I used a layer height of 0.1mm, though this detail isn't crucial. The slanted edges require smooth insertion into the tripod, however. Supports can be employed to ensure a well-printed hexagonal hole, yet they might prove difficult to remove. Using them is worthwhile if feasible. For a robust print, I advise setting line width at 125 - 150% of the nozzle size. For a 0.4mm nozzle, this equates to a line width of 0.5 - 0.6mm.
