To easily interchange a Kinect and a DSLR on my Manfrotto tripod equipped with a 701HDV head, I designed a quick release plate that matches the 501PL plate I already own. The OpenSCAD file includes adjustable parameters for thickness and length; the default settings generate a plate identical in size to an authentic 501PL.
