Manfred - WW1 RC Model Pilot Bust
thingiverse
This remix creates a WW1 pilot bust for RC models, used in both Sopwith Pup and Fokker DR1 Triplane at 1/6 scale. The base is incorporated into the body using Meshmixer, the jacket modified to resemble period leather, and pilots headphone integrated into the helmet, which has been altered to match those of its time. A scarf was removed to make room for a woolen one that can be added later to flow in the breeze. It's printed with pink PLA at 0.2mm height and 0% fill to minimize weight, strong enough for the task yet very lightweight. My 1/6 scale version weighed 12.5g. The Pilot was enlarged in Cura to reach a shoulder-to-shoulder size of 86mm, giving 1/6 scale. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 0% Notes: Support could be added under his nose and chin, but it's probably more trouble than its worth. Once he's cleaned up and painted, it can't really be seen anyway.
