Mando_Electro_Micro_Binoculars_Ver1
thingiverse
This thing was made with Tinkercad. This model is my own design for an alternative Star Wars Electronic Binocular kit that's smaller than normal and most greebles are static. Constructed, this model is 119.67mm wide, 176.56mm from front to back, and 69mm tall. The front (objective lens) is designed so you can add a piece of acrylic or glass before gluing it in place. The ocular lens is simply a recessed square cutout for adding a backlit screen. The inside is hollow aside from a center support, with the front and back end caps that screw on to let you add a battery and easily unscrew one end to change out the battery. When I constructed my binos, I discovered a fair amount of sanding was needed to get all parts to fit together properly. I used Velcro inside to hold the battery in place. I drilled out a hole on the thumb-rest on the underside and added a push button on/off switch to illuminate the ocular lens screen LEDs and the other two LEDs. I added two LEDs, one on the front and one on the top knob. Feel free to tinker with the model and come up with your own ideas. Note that I didn't make lanyard loops on the model; however, I used two small D-ring picture hangers at each screw point on the back plate and added a leather lanyard. Share, print, and tinker as you wish and enjoy.
