6/2/2020... If Cura issues persist with fitting this helmet to your bed, consider watching the video linked below to resolve the "keep out" area issue on newer Cura versions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il1sierB4Yk 4/3/2020... When printing the flat version, two additional prints are required to glue in the missing 14mm bottom chin pieces. 3/27/2020... A picture of me wearing the helmet has been added. The helmet fits snugly on my head, which measures 23 inches in circumference. This helmet was split into two halves using Fusion 360 and then resized using Cura to fit both an Ender 3 printer and a child's head aged 9-16 years. See the accompanying pictures for details. It sits on the bed at a 45-degree angle, and Cura can slice it successfully as long as it is positioned correctly on the bed without selecting Brim or Skirt. Supports are recommended everywhere except for the very tip top, where a support blocker should be placed to save time and plastic. I used silk silver filament with excellent results! Two versions of this helmet design are available. One version retains the entire chin point but does not lie flat on the bed, resulting in complete back support when enabling supports. The easier-to-use version lies nicely on the bed and provides a solid base for building, but it loses 14mm from the bottom of the chin. The helmet fits comfortably on my head, which is somewhat normal in size. I designed it primarily with my 9-year-old child's needs in mind, and it fits them well too! To print this helmet, use 0.24mm layer height and 10% infill. If you prefer a stronger final product, increase the infill percentage, but be prepared for longer printing times. Thanks!
