Manatee Skull and Mandible High Resolution Scan

thingiverse

This is a scan of a genuine Florida manatee skull and jawbone (mandible). Manatees are the official state mammal of Florida, and they are an endangered species. This one has been loaned to me from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and is curated at the Department of Anthropology at Indiana University South Bend. The specimen measures approximately 15 inches by 9 inches, and it's a juvenile female. You can print this unusual and rare specimen in parts or scale it down to fit your bed. It was scanned with a NextEngine scanner. Print out this manatee skull and jawbone for teaching purposes, or simply educate yourself about zoology. If you use this scan for any other reason than personal use, please comment on me with proper attribution. Do not use this image for commercial purposes. Please post a photo to share if you print this out. Check out my other scans of skulls and bones at http://www.thingiverse.com/dricketts/designs.
