This figure was inhabited by a powerful entity known as a Jiin. The artist Cat employed SculptGL to warp the mesh of a man's head and torso in a distorted manner. Created during the opening of the Designing Desire exhibition at FACT Liverpool, October 2017, the model was crafted in response to the exhibition and specifically the installation 'She Who Sees the Unknown', a reading room featuring images and text from Middle Eastern mythologies centered on Jiin's. According to legend, the female jinn Aeisheh Ghediseh, or Aisha, as referenced in Allahyari's work for Designing Desire, has the ability to create a fissure on the male body as a means of transforming him into another being through sexual and erotic acts. When she possesses a man, she does not completely take control of the host but rather opens him up to a torrent of incoming jnun and jinns, along with various sorcerous particles, turning the man into a gateway for new demons and cosmic data. This is why she is feared, as she never leaves her hosts and resides within them to guarantee their total openness, which is often not pleasant. FACT's Learning Programme experiments with the concept of the art-tech center as an expanded classroom for lifelong learning, a space for critical dialogues, artistic experiences, and social dreaming.
