In the early 1980s, MAN started supplying the Luftwaffe with upgraded vehicles of the KAT I A1 model as carriers in the 15-ton class. The 15 t mil gl BR A1 trucks, modified with a wider track of 2,900 mm, served as carriers and launcher systems for the Roland and Patriot weapon systems, transported on standard chassis trucks with flatbeds and 2.5-ton swiveling cranes provided by Atlas. The four-axle truck is powered by an 8-cylinder Diesel engine from Deutz, producing 360 hp with a turbocharger and intercooler. Like the 5-, 7-, and 10-ton classes, some vehicles in this class feature a Rotzler winch. On January 19, 2006, the COBRA counter-battery radar began using surplus chassis from the KAT I A1 generation. Inspired by Katweltreise's vision, we present this detailed model of a German military vehicle.
