Pleistocene mammoth thoracic vertebra discovered at the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument in Clark County, Nevada, is carefully encased in a sturdy plaster jacket. Upon close examination, it appears that this ancient fossil most likely belongs to the Columbian mammoth species, Mammuthus columbi.
