During an expedition to Alaska in 1907 and 1908, L.S. Quackenbush uncovered this fragment of dried mammoth flesh (refer to https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/bibliography/89566#/summary). On March 7, 2019, a NextEngine Desktop 3-D scanner at the New York State Museum captured its detailed image. The specimen is cataloged as V21 and kindly provided by the New York State Museum.
