MAME remote control
thingiverse
I needed wireless arcade controls for playing MAME, so I designed this set with an Arduino-compatible board featuring Bluetooth LE connectivity for seamless wireless operation as an HID keyboard paired with a Raspberry Pi connected to any HDMI input. My Raspberry Pi is not integrated into the controller; instead, it's connected wirelessly via Bluetooth LE. Notice in my photos that the buttons are surrounded by a plate. Initially, I had some issues with the design, but I solved them by creating a patch plate to correct it. These designs will perfectly accommodate Sanwa 20mm buttons without any modifications needed. This project was built using an Adafruit Feather 32u4 Bluefruit LE as the brain, six Sanwa OBSF-30-K buttons, four Sanwa SDM-20 buttons, one Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT joystick, and a standard 14mm USB Type-B socket. The 32u4 offers USB charging capabilities and can also run on small Lipo batteries. Here are the software details: I'm utilizing https://github.com/albinger/MAMEKeyboard for this project.
