MamaRoo Mobile Attachment Piece Replacement
thingiverse
The mobile attachment arm on our Mamaroo snapped, leaving me with a puzzle to solve. I carefully disassembled the broken piece and glued it back together, but unfortunately, it couldn't withstand the test of time. Undeterred, I decided to recreate the part from scratch and print it out. After several attempts, I finally nailed the orientation, and voila! The new arm holds strong. The first photo shows the original broken piece, a white plastic nightmare that refused to cooperate. In contrast, the second image features my trusty orange replacement, a sturdy hero that's been holding up admirably so far. And in the final shot, you can see our Mamaroo suspended high above the ground, its mobile attachment arm proudly bearing its weight. One crucial tip: when printing this piece, be sure to orient it sideways. If you try to rotate it during the process, it will split along the layers or shatter into a hundred pieces. I learned this lesson the hard way with PLA, which proved too weak and slowly bent over time until finally giving up. Luckily, I had some ABS left, but when that ran out, I switched to PETG, and so far, it's been holding up like a champ!
