Malon the Pet Dragon BJD
thingiverse
This is Malon - a mini-dragon. I was working on him for resin casting, but ran into problems with the thin walls of his joints and the complex shapes of the elastic channels. But he's perfect for a filament-style printer like the Ender 3, so I thought I would share him with the world! He's meant to have an alien vibe and would make a great "pet" dragon for a ball-jointed doll or Barbie. Included are the "malon_full" file, which has him put together and standing; the "malon_packed" file, which fits all of his parts onto one Ender 3 bed sized area for easy printing; and individual parts files. If you're printing him from the parts files you'll need one of each, but I recommend using the packed file if it fits on your bed (or using Meshmixer to automatically pack your own copies from the full file). I strung him with half-milimeter elastic, though he was a bit looser than I would like. He should take 1mm elastic easily, or doubled-over half-milimeter. He takes 6-8mm eyes, depending on how large you want the iris. He will only fit the partial dome style of eyes, not full spheres - be warned. His joints might be a bit of a tight fit; you can sand them to fit more cleanly. He should print cleanly in any rigid material, though be warned that chemical smoothing like acetone smoothing ABS could make the already iffy joint fittings worse.
