Malolo's screw-less / snap fit Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ Case & Stands
thingiverse
There already is an abundance of raspberry pi cases on Thingiverse, but I went ahead and created one anyway because I felt like it and had a blast doing it. I aimed to achieve several key features in my design: * Easy to print without support, with no steep overhangs or long bridges. * Top and bottom layers printable on the print surface. * No screws or glue needed; it's a snap fit. * Slim and compact dimensions. * Access to the pins for easier tinkering. Here are the details of my design: **Naming Scheme:** To help you pick the right files, I used a simple naming scheme: * Function: + Bottom = bottom part + Top = top part * Designs: + Base = base design without ventilation holes + Hex = hexagonally shaped ventilation holes + Logo = raspberry logo as ventilation holes + Slots = simple slot shaped ventilation slots * Multi Material: + SM = single material + MM<X> = multi material (X = number of different colors) * Accessories: + Cam = contains a slot for camera cable + Disp = contains a slot for display cable + Pins = contains a slot for access to the pins **Multi Color Printing:** If you want to print with multiple colors, I've included separate STL files for each color. To set up your print, follow these steps: 1. Add all the STL files for your chosen design and color scheme to the "Plater" tab. 2. When Prusa Slicer asks if it should consider the files as a single object or multiple objects, answer "yes". 3. Check the preview to ensure the colors are correct. 4. Hit "Slice now" and transfer the G-code to your printer. **Printing:** When your printer reaches the M600 command, it will pause outside the print area and prompt you to switch filament. Make sure to follow these tips: * The order in which filaments are changed is not consistent, so I added a custom Tool change G-code setting with the M600 command. * When using the Original Prusa i3 MK3, be aware that the printer will extrude quite a bit of filament after you confirm completion of the filament change. Don't remove the filament until it's safe to do so. **Updates:** I've made two updates since the initial release: * Added a slotted version with extended height (September 2019) * Added stand versions for the extended height cases (May 2020)
