Malocclusion, Misalignment of Teeth, Dental Autopsy Scan

thingiverse

This is a scan of a dental autopsy cast showing extreme misalignment of the upper maxillary teeth. I have used this extensively to showcase how dental x-rays and malformations are utilized for positive identification in forensic and dental anthropology. This set was molded at the morgue and then cast in Wood's metal, before being scanned. The picture is of the metal cast, covered in white dust to make it viewable to the scanner. Print this out, use it for teaching purposes, or simply educate yourself about teeth morphology. If you choose to use it for any other purpose than personal, be sure to provide proper attribution by commenting below. Please post a photo to share if you decide to print this out, and check out my other scans of skulls and bones on http://www.thingiverse.com/dricketts/designs.
