Malocclusion, Misalignment of Teeth, Dental Autopsy Scan
pinshape
I've scanned a dental autopsy cast showcasing extreme misalignment of the upper maxillary teeth. This image has been used extensively to demonstrate how dental x-rays and malformations are utilized in forensic and dental anthropology for positive identification. The set was molded at the morgue, then cast in Wood's metal, before being scanned. The picture depicts the metal cast covered in white dust, making it viewable to the scanner. Print this image for teaching purposes or simply to educate yourself about teeth morphology. If you use it for any other purpose, please provide proper attribution.
