Mallet, Weighted Head
thingiverse
I whipped up a mallet that's quick and easy to make. It calls for a 1.5 to 2 inch long, 1/4 inch diameter screw, and three nuts. Just spin two of the nuts onto the head of the screw, slip the remaining nut into the handle, then attach the head to the handle with bolts. The extra nuts add some heft to the mallet head. Feel free to create your own versions easily; I've included the freeCAD source file. As you can probably guess by now, I said "I whipped this up" so keep in mind that I didn't focus too much on organization - but most of the parts have descriptive names. This design was printed on a Lulzbot Mini using 0.5mm nozzle - if your nozzle is even smaller, you may find that the connection between head and handle doesn't fit snugly together; you can scale up the handle slightly to solve this problem. It's also probably a good idea to flip over the mallet heads so that the wide end of each one lands on the buildplate. Here are the print settings: Rafts: It really doesn't matter which setting you use here. Supports: Same story - you can pick either option and be done with it.
