Maleficent style staff
thingiverse
This is a staff I built for a display. The body can be drilled to fit any size LED you want to insert. The handle holds the battery pack and switch in place. The body and handle are secured together with three small screws, recessed holes are located at the bottom of the handle. No screw holes are present on the body as I'm unsure about the size of the screws that will be used, so you'll have to line them up and drill yourself. The handle should fit a one-inch pole. I created the light from a cheap aluminum torch purchased at a dollar store, cutting off the top part approximately an inch below the LED's. I soldered wires from the inside of the LED to the battery pack and switch to complete the circuit. The torch top is hot-glued into the main body. Be cautious of polarity or you'll damage the LED's. The power switch from the torch is reused and should either screw or push-fit into the handle as shown. The diffuser can be pushed over the torch top and printed in any desired color. My staff was printed using gold PLA and is transparent enough to showcase the color of the diffuser. I've included a model for the side button in case you want to create a symmetrical look for the handle. I have some ideas to enhance this design, but it was completed within a week, so I apologize if anything appears vague. The globe I printed with .8mm walls and 100% infill on the inside, and 1.2mm walls with 20% infill on the outside.
